The Southern Highlands Computer Users Group (SHCUG) was formed in 1995 with the objective of assisting the members of our community, particularly seniors, to use and enjoy the benefits of computer technology through meetings, and other educational activities.

The membership includes beginners through to those who are highly competent. There is always the need of every member to keep up with developments and also to reinforce the myriad of skills that are part of getting more from computers. This is is achieved through monthly meetings, and at our Education Centre with courses, workshops and 1:1 sessions.

Monthly meetings held in the Community Centre, Boardman Road, East Bowral on the first Tuesday of each month, except January, at 7:30 pm are well attended. The meeting format is for presentations on relevant subjects, and always cover a range from basic to advanced. Refreshments are served and we welcome guests to these meetings.

The Education Centre is located in Unit 5 Harbison Care, Charlotte Street Burradoo. The Centre is well equipped with both PC and Macintosh computers, printers, scanners and a projector to assist with courses, workshops, 1:1 sessions and special interest groups.

'KEYWORD' is the monthly newsletter keeping members up to date with the group activities and technical developments.

SHCUG is a member of the Australian Seniors Computers Clubs of Australia - ASCCA.

The patron of SHCUG is the Mayor or Wingecarribee Shire Council.
